Richer Estimated Payouts for American Saddlebred Registry Sweepstakes

The 2006 American Saddlebred Registry Sweepstakes (ASR) began on Thursday, September 7, at the All American Horse Classic at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Sweepstakes payouts for 2006 are expected to increase over 20%. In 2005, the total payout was $139,433. Prize money was distributed as follows: Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes, $38,629; Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes, $70,428; Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes, $30,376. The total estimated payouts in 2006 are up almost $32,000. Since its inception, the Sweepstakes program has awarded more than $3.3 million.

Class 55, Two-Year-Old Fine Harness
Class 59, Two-Year-Old Three-Gaited
Class 64, Two-Year-Old Five-Gaited
Class 67, Two-Year-Old Park Pleasure

Friday, September 8, 6:30 p.m.
Class 98, Four-Year-Old Fine Harness
Class 103, Four-Year-Old Five-Gaited
Class 108, Four-Year-Old Three-Gaited
Class 111, Four-Year-Old Park Pleasure

Saturday, September 9, 6:30 p.m.
Class 134, Three-Year-Old Fine Harness
Class 140, Three-Year-Old Five-Gaited
Class 144, Three-Year-Old Three-Gaited
Class 148, Three-Year-Old Park Pleasure

The American Saddlebred Registry Two-, Three- and Four-Year-Old Sweepstakes Program is designed to perpetuate the breeding, training and showing of the American Saddlebred horse. A unique feature of the sweepstakes program is the judge selection is done by a vote of the Sweepstakes’ participants, with the approval of the American Saddlebred Horse Association Sweepstakes Committee. Prize money is divided between the recorded owner at the time of competition and the original nominator(s).
