USEF, USDF and USHJA Announce New Affiliates Verification Service; Online Service Provides Owner, Rider and Horse Data for Both USEF and Affiliate on One Document

Lexington, KY—It’s fast, easy to use, and saves you the hassle of fumbling with multiple sets of membership cards from both the USEF, and USDF or USHJA to enter a competition.

The USEF Affiliate Verification Service is now operational and can be accessed through the USEF website, www.usef.org; the USDF website, www.usdf.org and the USHJA website, www.ushja.org, or at www.eqverification.org. The service allows you to search and then print your owner and rider USEF membership data, and horse I.D data, on the same sheet of paper with the corresponding USDF or USHJA information. This one sheet can then be used as documentation of your status in both organizations for entering USEF licensed competitions.

Once you enter the site there are instructions guiding you through the process which ends with printing the document. The USEF information is on the left side and the affiliate (either USDF or USHJA) information is on the right side. Horse, rider and owner verification can all be grouped on the same document.

“We have been well aware that shuffling multiple membership cards has been a real hassle for not just members, but for licensed officials and competition organizers. USEF, USDF and USHJA have all cooperated to share data in order to create an easier system for everyone. This is the first step towards the ultimate goal of having one card and number for both the USEF and affiliate membership, and horse I.D. Our goal is to bring other affiliates on board with this service,” said John Long, Chief Executive Officer of the United States Equestrian Federation.

“This is a great first step in the direction we’ve wanted to pursuit for a long time on behalf of all our competitors,” added Stephan Heinzsch, Executive Director of the United States Dressage Federation. “With this success of streamlining the paperwork burden of entering dressage competitions, we will continue to move forward in our pursuit of having a one membership card option.”

Bill Moroney, President of the United States Hunter and Jumper Association said, “Since the recognition of the USHJA as the hunter-jumper affiliate, dual USHJA/USEF members have enjoyed the convenience that comes with one membership card and one number for both organizations. This new ability to access both membership and horse I.D data through the USHJA website completes the circle of providing our members with state-of-the-art membership services. This is a great example of the affiliates and the USEF working together to make live simpler for our members.”
