by By Carol Trimmer | Oct 18, 2006, 2:21 AM

Rex Hester of Bear Creek, NC, recently notified the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) of the death, on July 29, 2006, of Be Aech Enterprise.

Sired by Squaw Leo and out of the NRHA Hall of Fame mare Enterprise Lady, Be Aech Enterprise was born in 1975. Ridden by Bill Horn, he placed third in the 1978 NRHA Futurity. He finished his show ring career in 1982 when Horn placed this stallion fifth in the tough NRHA open competition held at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio. Be Aech Enterprise has $20,699.06 in NRHA Lifetime Earnings.

In 1995, his get made Be Aech Enterprise the second stallion to achieve NRHA million dollar sire status. To date, his sons and daughters have earned $1,403,761.17. In NRHA circles, many are household names.

Jim Babcock’s Trashadeous, out of the legendary NRHA Hall of Fame mare, Miss White Trash, was second in the 1990 NRHA Futurity, won the NRHA Derby and Superstakes, and in 1992 was the NRHA Open World Champion. He finished his career with NRHA lifetime earnings of $131,103.17. Trashadeous was inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame in 1996.

Barroom Be Aech, out of Neds Little Star, was fourth in the 1989 NRHA Futurity with Bill Horn riding. He went on to compete successfully in NRHA Non-Pro competition on two continents--with Mike Simmons in the U.S. and Franz Mack in Europe. He amassed $78,146.90 in NRHA lifetime earnings. Barroom Be Aech, ridden by Mike Simmons, was the 1991 NRHA Non-Pro World Champion.

Enterprise Velvet, out of Gunners Velvet, was second in the 1983 NRHA Futurity with Bill Horn in the saddle, then went on to win the 1987 NRHA Intermediate Non-Pro World Championship title with owner Lyn Sherer.

Other NRHA world champion and reserve world champion title holders include Surprise Enterprise, U S S Enterprise, Be Aeches Bo, Bar Bill BH and most recently the 2005 open world Champion, Chex Enterprise.

In 1997, Be Aech Enterprise was inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame for his valued contributions to the reining horse industry: horses that were bred to rein and did so for many years. Well-known to reining horse breeders around the world, his contributions to the sport through his progeny and their offspring will continue indefinitely.

According to Rex Hester, Be Aech Enterprise was buried on his farm beside his favorite mare, Miss White Trash. It is fitting that the mating of these two Hall of Fame horses produced another NRHA Hall of Famer, the world famous Trashadeous.
