Horses Unlimited, one of the premier sport horse breeding establishments in the United States, hosted three inspections this fall for the Oldenburg Registry of North American/International Sport Horse Registry (OLD/ISR,) the Rheinland Pfalz Saar International (RPSI) and the American Hanoverian Society (AHS.)
“We are very fortunate to be able to host these inspections,” said the CEO of Horses Unlimited, Anne Sparks Whitten. “The inspectors are always willing to share their knowledge and insights, which is very helpful for anyone interested in breeding.”
The Horses Unlimited stallions fared very well at all three inspections as their offspring brought home numerous premiums and high score awards. At the AHS inspection held October 7, the 9-year-old Hanoverian stallion Glorioso Noir sired the top colt and top filly. The top colt, Galeno, is out of an Elite mare by Wolkenstein II. The top filly, Golden Siren, is out of Sea Siren by Stakkato. In addition, Glorioso Noir also sired the high score colt at the OLD/ISR inspection. This colt, owned by Ulla Hudson, received an 8.2 overall score and an 8.3 on movement.
“We are very pleased with Glorioso’s babies,” said Whitten. “They have a lot of movement, long legs and are very pretty.”
Although he has only been on a limited breeding schedule due to his training and showing schedule, the young grand prix stallion Leonberg also sired three inspection stars. La Estrella Fugaz HU and Leonora HU were both awarded premium gold from the RPSI, and Lancalot received an 8.7 on movement and premium gold at his RPSI inspection on the East Coast.
Not to be left out, grand prix jumper Noble Champion had his share of super foals too. Noble sired Nueva Cancion HU, the high score filly at the OLD/ISR inspection. This filly received an 8.0 overall and 8.1 on her movement. Her half-brother Nativo del Chaparral HU was also designated premium foal with an 8.1 overall and an 8.2 on movement. Noble Champion was also represented by the mare Nuestra Sonrisa who was placed into Mare Book I and awarded premium mare status by the RPSI. Among her scores was a 9.0 for her canter.
“As a breeder, you try very hard to match stallions and mares together,” Whitten said. “It’s a wonderful feeling when the crosses result in athletic, sweet horses that the inspectors reward with high scores.”
