Virginia Couple Earns Top Sales Record at Hanoverian Elite Auction in Germany

by By Bert Page | Oct 19, 2006, 2:56 AM

On October 14, at the Hanoverian Elite Auction in Verden, Germany, the four-year-old Londontime (by Londonderry), was the top-selling horse at a record price of 510,000 Euro or $650,000. This was an all-time record, by a substantial margin, for any of the breeder associations’ Elite Auctions in Germany. Londontime was owned by Bert and Elizabeth Lewis Page from Keswick, VA. The Pages had acquired Londontime as a two-year-old in Germany. After his licensing and successful HLP (stallion performance test), the Pages had leased him to the Niedersachsen State Stud in Celle Germany. His new owner, Hans Guenther Berner, from Bienenbuettel in Niedersachsen, has leased him back to the State Stud in Celle.
