American Saddlebred Horse Association to Webcast Tattersalls Fall Sale

by By Matthew Williams | Oct 26, 2006, 3:19 PM

The American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA) intends to webcast all three days of the 2006 Fall Sale at Tattersalls, as conducted by Teater Saddlebred Enterprises, Inc. The ASHA has previously provided streaming video of the Kentucky State Fair World’s Championship Horse Show on its Internet website, www.saddlebred.com, and plans to do the same for the Fall Sale on Thursday, October 26, through Saturday, October 29.

A live streaming video feed will become available shortly before the start of each session: 10 a.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday (all times are Eastern). Viewers will pay a fee of $8 per day/computer. The fee covers viewing for each day’s sale in its entirety, meaning the $8 fee for Friday includes both sessions. Payment will be accepted online using a credit or debit card. Viewers’ Internet connection should be broadband, DSL or cable modem for optimum quality. A dial-up Internet connection is not sufficient. Those interested in purchasing the webcast should go to the ASHA website, www.saddlebred.com, beginning Thursday morning and follow the instructions provided.

Current plans include enhancing the Fall Sale webcast during the final two sessions with an additional camera angle, offering a more “up-close and personal” feel to the Internet viewer. A single, fixed camera expects to be the source of video for Thursday and Friday’s day session with plans to add a second mobile camera for Friday night and Saturday. During all three days of the sale, the webcast will allow viewers to listen in on the auctioneer’s call as well as see the sale board, which includes hip number and price.
