Rolex will in future be supporting the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen, as their general sponsor. Until now, Rolex had shown its commitment to Aachen in their role as main sponsor. As the general sponsor, Rolex is also the title sponsor of the most important show jumping competition in the world, the Rolex Prize of Aachen.

“The CHIO Aachen epitomises respect for old traditions, the quest for innovation and for precision right down to the last detail. It is very well suited to us,“ said Peter Streit, General Director of Rolex Germany, as he justified the expansion of the present commitment, adding that the cooperation had always been excellent in the past.

Rolex has been the main sponsor of the CHIO since 1999. As a world partner of the FEI World Equestrian Games 2006, the famous watch manufacturer also greatly contributed to the success of the FEI World Equestrian Games. Streit commented further, “The CHIO in Aachen is the most significant annual equestrian event in the world. It is professionally organized, displays top-level sport and convinces above all as a result of the high media presence it enjoys. The CHIO Aachen is an ideal environment for us. We are particularly pleased that the most important individual show jumping competition in the world bears our name.“

“Our collaboration has always been very successful in the past and is hallmarked by immense mutual trust,“ Michael Mronz, General Director of Aachener Reitturnier GmbH (ART), stated. “So we are naturally delighted that Rolex is further extending its commitment.“

The CHIO Aachen is the most prestigious and popular international equestrian event. More than 300,000 spectators visit the traditional show grounds of the Soers in Aachen every year to experience the world’s best equestrian athletes. In 2007, as well as the three conventional disciplines of show jumping, dressage and driving, the CHIO Aachen (July 3-8, 2007) will for the first time also be enhanced by eventing and vaulting in 2007. In this way the organizers are accommodating the wishes of both the spectators and the athletes—expressed after the FEI World Equestrian Games 2006 in Aachen. The general sponsors of the tournament are Rolex, Mercedes-Benz and Warsteiner.
