Sir Sinclair Sires KWPN-Approved Son from First Foal Crop

by By Christine DeHerrera | Jan 9, 2007, 12:32 PM

Iron Spring Farm’s Dutch stallion Sir Sinclair has sired a KWPN-approved son from his very first foal crop—Wesley. This impressive bay stallion shows great promise as a dressage horse and was one of only four dressage stallions approved in Holland. Bred and owned by Stal Wijdewormer, Wesley is out of Serrita V by Havidoff. Sir Sinclair is also the sire of 18 star mares from his first crop. This is a nearly unheard of record for a young stallion.

“Sir Sinclair is a very special horse,” said Mary Alice Malone, owner of Iron Spring Farm. “He continues to impress us both competitively and as a sire. To have an approved son at this age is remarkable.”

Sir Sinclair has also been successful in the show ring. He was the 2005 United States Dressage Federation Horse of the Year FEI Six-Year-Old as well as the national champion in the same division at the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)/Markel Young Horse Championships. He also earned reserve champion in the five-year-old division at the 2004 USEF Young Horse Championships. In 2006, he made his Prix St. Georges debut and earned scores up to 72.25% at shows such as Dressage at Lexington. Sir Sinclair is by the athletic stallion Lord Sinclair out of Krishna by Flemmingh.
