The Kentucky Horse Council (KHC), a statewide association for all horse owners and enthusiasts, is establishing an All-Breed Advisory Council, which will provide a unified voice for all breeds owners in Kentucky. The Council had its first organizational meeting at the end of February.
“The Kentucky Horse Council recognizes the wealth of horse breeds owned by Kentuckians throughout our Commonwealth. This all-breed council will enable each of the breeds to identify common horse ownership and horse industry issues that they would like to see the Kentucky Horse Council address,” said Madelyn Millard, President of the Kentucky Horse Council.
Ginny Grulke, Executive Director of KHC, added, “The underpinnings of our equine industry rest on not only the renowned Kentucky thoroughbred, but also on the many show, trail and family horses throughout the state. Their contribution to the reputation of Kentucky as ‘Horse Capital of the World’ is significant both in terms of economics and in terms of culture and lifestyle. This Council will shine a light on all breeds in the state.”
