Lexington, KY — As part of the United States Equestrian Federation’s (USEF) commitment to its members and in partnership with Equisure, Inc., the “Official Insurance Provider to USEF members,” the two organizations announce the continuation of a $1-million personal excess liability coverage and up to $30,000 accidental death policy for Senior or Life Members and an accidental death benefit limited to $3,750 for insured persons under the age of 18 years old.

“The USEF is pleased to offer such extensive coverage for our members, through our strong partnership with Equisure,” said USEF Chief Executive Officer John Long. “Being able to offer our members peace of mind regarding personal insurance is another benefit for being a member of the USEF.”

This extensive insurance policy through Equisure offers peace of mind for USEF members since the unexpected in the horse world can be costly. Specifically, the $1-million personal excess liability coverage includes claims brought against members of the USEF arising from the use and/or ownership of a horse and for horse-related accidents involving bodily injury or property damage. There is no deductible for this coverage.

In addition to this policy, USEF members receive a personal accident policy for death or permanent disability resulting from a horse-related accident at USEF events. Coverage for bodily injury caused by an accident occurring at (but not including travel to and from) the site of an official USEF events anywhere in the United States: accidental death – up to $30,000; permanent total disablement – up to $35,000 maximum sum insured. The specific benefit amount is determined by where the accident occurred and the outcome. Coverage conditions and exclusions can be found in USEF membership packets and details are mailed to each member yearly along with their membership card.

There is also up to $20,000 accidental death coverage for any USEF horse-related activity worldwide. Coverage for bodily injury caused by an equestrian related accident and direct travel to and from (but not while attending) official USEF events including overnight stops: accidental death – up to $20,000; permanent disablement - per scale; permanent total disablement – up to $20,000 maximum sum insured.

"We are thrilled to continue our relationship with USEF,” said Diane Lesher, President of Equisure. “Over the years, we have helped thousands of members with their insurance needs and we hope to assist many more in the years to come. We provide great insurance products to the USEF members and provide a highly valued member benefit."
