Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has formed a multi-year partnership with Platinum Performance, Inc., a California manufacturer of premium nutritional products for horses, companion animals and humans. Platinum Performance will be the “Official Sports Nutrition Supplement Company” and the title sponsor of the 2007 USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Program for both the East and West Coasts.
“The USEF welcomes the new partnership with Platinum Performance,” said USEF Chief Executive Officer John Long. “With Platinum Performance's involvement in the Talent Search Program, which has been implemented for over 51 years, it reinforces the importance of supporting the ‘stars of tomorrow’ through grass roots programs.”
Platinum Performance, founded in 1996, provides veterinarians, horse owners and trainers with superior quality nutritional formulas based on research and clinical experience. By offering a comprehensive wellness and performance formula, Platinum Performance addresses multiple nutritional deficiencies and imbalances, which are common in most modern equine diets.
With the addition of Platinum Performance as the title sponsor of the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Program, this sponsorship supports a valuable program. A very demanding competition, the Talent Search Program attracts the nation’s top young riders in head-to-head competition. The program has developing riders meet a more difficult set of standards than what is required in other competitions, which helps to prepare them for future participation in high level events and ultimately creates a pipeline for future show jumping talents.
The roster of graduates of the program is impressive and includes Greg Best, Chris Kappler, Peter Leone, Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, Beezie Madden, Katie Monahan Prudent, Richard Spooner and Mclain Ward.
Platinum Performance's co-founder and President Mark Herthel enthusiastically supports his company’s new partnership and role as the official sports nutrition company of the USEF. “The Show Jumping Talent Search Program is an excellent complement to our Feeding for the Future program,” says Herthel. “Like the USEF, Platinum Performance recognizes that young riders are the future of equestrian sport, and will play key roles in ensuring lifelong health for the horse. This partnership helps us inform young riders about how their feeding choices today can influence the health and performance of their horses in the future.”
