Temecula, CA—Adding only four show jumping penalties to their dressage score, Shannon Lilley of San Jose, CA, and High Mountain Road, owned by Dayna Lynd-Pugh of Tres Pinos, CA, won the USEF National One Star Eventing Championship and the Richard D. Collins Trophy, with a total score of 52.3. The Championship took place at the Galway Downs International Three-Day Event and Horse Trials in Temecula, CA, November 4-7. Claiming another victory over the weekend was Jamie Lawrence of Seattle, WA and her horse, Malik. The pair won the USEF National Young Rider Eventing Championship and the John H. Fritz Trophy after adding two rails in show jumping to their dressage score, for a total of 63.2.

“Our officials and course builders worked extremely well together to overcome the rain and it resulted in a great event,” said Robert Kellerhouse, organizer of the event. Kellerhouse also said he looks forward to working with the new owners of the property to build on Galway’s tradition while continuing to offer the traditional and modified formats.
