Lexington, KY - Full of promise for the FEI World Pony Driving Championship this July in Denmark, the US drivers got off to a great start at the CAI-A in Saumur, France this weekend picking up a decisive win in the pairs division under the reins of Randy Cadwell and a runner-up finish in the four-in-hand division by Laurie Astengiano.
Cadwell and her pair were the only team to not add any penalties in the marathon phases to their score to best Belgian driver André Wynants and Swiss driver Marjorie Magnin.
In the four-in-hand division, Astengiano was second to Mia Allo from Belgium, who proved dominant in the division. French driver Gilles Arriat was third.
These results set the US Team up confidently for the FEI World Pony Driving Championships later this summer.
