The American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR) announced that the registry is a 2007 Affiliated Association with the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). As a USEF Affiliated Association, the AMHR benefits from exposure to more than 89,000 USEF members, publication of the AMHR address and contact information in Equestrian magazine and access to insurance coverage at a special Affiliated Association members-only rate. Affiliated Association members receive the USEF Rule Book and the USEF Roster of Licensed Officials. In addition, as a USEF Affiliated Association, AMHR has the opportunity to submit association news for publication in Equestrian magazine and the Week in Review e-newsletter. USEF has assigned Joyce Hamblin, Director of National Affiliates, to assist the AMHR in taking advantage of all the USEF offers. “Being a USEF Affiliated Association brings us closer to our goal of strengthening our relationship with the USEF and gives our small equines exposure to USEF’s large membership base”, said ASPC/AMHR Marketing Director Johnny Robb. “We have a growing relationship with USEF with the American Shetland Pony Club (ASPC), and it is exciting to begin involving the AMHR in activities with USEF,” added ASPC/AMHR Executive Director Zona Schneider. The AMHR’s sister registry, The American Shetland Pony Club is a Recognized USEF Association and offers USEF People’s Choice Awards and sanctioned Shetland classes at USEF-recognized shows. “Our longer term goal for the AMHR is to expand the relationship with USEF and work toward having the AMHR become a USEF Recognized Breed,” said Robb. “This is a great first step, and I believe the relationship between our organizations will be mutually beneficial for both USEF and AMHR.” AMHR representatives attended the 2007 USEF Annual Convention held earlier this year and will continue to work closely with Hamblin throughout 2007.
