Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to Kick Off Fourth Annual Horse Shows by the Bay on July 18, 2007

Horse Sports by the Bay, Inc., would like to extend an open invitation to those interested in attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 18 at 8 a.m. for the new permanent facility of Horse Shows by the Bay. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held prior to the first class in the Polk Family Main Hunter ring, and officiated by Acme Township Supervisor Bill Kurtz. Horse Shows by the Bay is a three-week equestrian festival in picturesque Traverse City, MI, held July 18-August 5.

Annually, Horse Shows by the Bay contributes more than $4-million dollars to the local tourism economy and this year, management expects the event will be sold out. The brand new facility is located in Acme Township just three miles east of Grand Traverse Bay and features four sand/limestone rings, each with its own large warm-up area and graded tent pads complete with underground electric and water. In addition to the new facility, Horse Shows by the Bay has expanded class offerings and increased prize money. This year marks Horse Sports by the Bay's fourth year of producing top-rated competition in the Midwest area.

Some highlights of the schedule include a $25,000 Show Jumping Grand Prix each Sunday, $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Prix, Young Jumper Classics, Hunter Classics, and the Zada Enterprises, LLC, Dressage by the Bay shows. The equestrian festival also features charity fundraisers and exhibitor socials. Horse Shows by the Bay I, II and III and Zada Enterprises, LLC, Dressage by the Bay I and II are produced annually by Horse Sports by the Bay, Inc., and feature some of the nation's top horses and riders.
