by By Reeves Kirtner, ASHA | Nov 23, 2004, 3:15 PM

The American Saddlebred Horse Association has joined forces with the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) and have added Misdee Wrigley as a board member to the organization. Also members Hoppy Bennett from Shelby County and Joan Hamilton from Washington County have been selected as team leaders in their respective counties.

KEEP’s main initiatives are to:
· Educate the public and key state constituencies with regard to the benefits of the horse industry to all sectors of Kentucky's economy;
· Develop a state grassroots network involving participants in all 120 counties;
· Build a state coalition of diverse organizations supporting Kentucky's horse economy, and;
· Develop an economic agenda for Kentucky’s horse economy that promotes job creation and retention.

KEEP is open to the public, and membership is available to everyone starting at just $10. The benefits of membership include free admission to the Kentucky Horse Park and all pari-mutuel racetracks in Kentucky (except for the Kentucky Oaks, Kentucky Derby and Breeder’s Cup events) through December 2005. In addition, members will receive periodic updates on KEEP activities and notices of KEEP events throughout the state.
