Competitions listed in italics are pending final approval from the USEF Executive Committee and the FEI.
Three of the venues will make significant improvements in their facilities.
The stabling area at the Capital Challenge will be improved this year, announced Show Manager Oliver Kennedy, “We have moved the FEI stable area to a location closer to the arena and are putting up a tent 80 feet wide instead of 60 feet wide so that they have larger aisles.”
Stadium Jumping, Inc. who runs three World Cup Qualifiers in Wellington, FL is also making substantial improvements to their busy facility.
These improvements include resurfacing the footing in the Internationale Arena, a large task that began in June. Total renovations to the venue will exceed $750,000.
“Replacing the worn out footing in this arena is our absolute top priority,” said Stadium Jumping, Inc. CEO Gene Mische.
The Thermal, California show grounds is also committed to improving their facilities by installing a covered arena specifically for their four World Cup Qualifiers. Tom Struzzieri, President and CEO of HITS, Inc. noted, “We are engaging a top European footing expert to help us with the new ground.”
Course Designer Anthony D’Ambrosio added “Once the footing is prepared for the covered arena, it will be inspected by a Technical Delegate representing West Coast riders.” D’Ambrosio will be assisting the HITS management throughout this process.
The World Cup Qualifiers are the most vital aspect in the World Cup process and ensuring top-class competition venues to prepare the country’s best horses and riders for optimal performances at the Final is of utmost importance to the USEF
