The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic, the only American Grand Prix Association grand prix show jumping event in New England, will be presented by Animal Planet this year at the show grounds in South Hamilton, MA, September 5-9, 2007. As presenting sponsor, Animal Planet will provide one of the jumps in the grand prix course by Olympic course designer Richard Jeffrey.

Animal Planet programming has included equestrian events, such as the Sporthorse Cup and the Rolex FEI World Cup Finals, and also televised a six-week show, Horse Power: Road to the Maclay. "It was a reality show featuring real teenage riders from Beacon Hill," said Ashlee Wilkins, Animal Planet Marketing Specialist. "Equestrian events have a niche market, but it is growing," she added. More than six million viewers of all ages tuned in to Animal Planet to watch the series.

Show jumping enthusiasts at the Jumper Classic can visit the Animal Planet booth for free, unique promotional items, including a personally-engraved Animal Planet pet I.D. tag and a handheld fan promoting the hit show Meerkat Manor. Now, in its third season, Meerkat Manor features the Whiskers family on Friday's at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

"We're very excited about Animal Planet's interest in the Jumper Classic, and they have an impressive jump to add to the course," said Melissa Lovasco, President. "This is the first year we've been affiliated with Animal Planet, and we're pleased we have such a great lineup of riders competing all week long and in the grand prix." The Jumper Classic has over 500 horses and riders coming to the five days of competition. "This is our most exciting grand prix ever," Lovasco added. "The list of riders reads like a who's who in show jumping."
