by By Daniel Rieffer | Sep 13, 2007, 11:42 AM

The deadline to nominate yearlings for the 2008 American Saddlebred Registry (ASR) Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes is Saturday, September 15, 2007. That’s this Saturday. The 10-day grace period following the September 15 deadline allows for nominations to be postmarked on or before Tuesday, September 25. Nominations not postmarked by September 25 will not be accepted.

A nomination fee of $125 must be remitted before the September 25 grace period deadline. An additional payment of $200 is due by June 1, 2008. An estimated payout of more than $33,000 was awarded in this year’s ASR Two-Year-Old Sweepstakes, which was held at the All American Horse Classic in Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The sweepstakes program has awarded more than $3.7 million since its inception.

Nomination forms, as well as general rules and other ASR Sweepstakes information, are available to download on the association’s Web site at www.saddlebred.com/Prize-Sweepstakes.
