The 2007 American Trakehner Association (ATA) convention and breed inspection will be held November 8-10 in Denton, TX. In addition to convention meetings, many North American Trakehner breeders will bring their horses to be shown before an international committee of judges.
All horse activities will be held at Whispering Farms Equestrian Center in Prosper and are open to the public. Events include a performance exhibition, stallion parade, and hunter and jumper stake classes.
The Trakehner horse is one of the oldest of the European warmblood breeds, with a history reaching back more than 400 years. All breeding animals must undergo inspection before their offspring can be moved into the association’s registry. Because the Trakehner is the only warmblood breed with a “closed” stud book, the breed has been kept on track for type and performance. Mare and stallion inspections will be conducted during this convention.
The Radisson Hotel Denton hosts the meeting and is the location of the welcome reception, banquet and merit and member awards presentations, including Trakehner Horse of the Year awards.
