Attention USEF Junior Jumper Riders

The following rule changes were approved by the Executive Committee on September 17, 2007, with an effective date of October 1, 2007. Bold/italic format indicates new text. Strikethrough indicates deleted text.
JP100 Eligibility. [Chapter JP. Jumper Division] Effective 10/1/07:

2. For all If a USEF Jumper Sub-Committee and or Jumper Task Force members is composed geographically, the Zone State of a Jumper member is the one that the member resides in the majority of the year. , regardless of other legal or mailing addresses. (e.g., a rented P.O. Box, a mail forwarding service, or other temporary domicile). In extenuating circumstances, a A person may apply to the Federation’s National Jumper Committee for permission to represent a different State. Zone different from the above.

The Zone of a rider Individuals qualifying to participate on a National, Regional, or Zone Jumper teamswill be determined by the rider’s point state. that necessitates assigning a Jumper member to a particular Zone, the Zone of a Jumper member is the one that the member resides in the majority of the year, A rider’s point state shall be the state given on the rider’s membership application. That address is locked on December 1 of the competition year or the first day of the rider’s membership activation, whichever comes first. However, a Life member’s address is always locked on December 1 of the competition year. The address given on the membership application must be the state where the rider resided the most number of days in the previous competition year regardless of other legal or mailing addresses. (e.g., a rented P.O. Box, a mail forwarding service, or other temporary domicile). A minor’s home Zone is the one that his/her parents (or legal guardian) reside in the majority of the year. Exception: a full time student 18 years of age or over attending school outside of his/her traditional home Zone may choose his parents’ (or legal guardian’s) residence with permission from the Federation. See also GR903. If a rider is found not in compliance with this rule, the rider may be subject to disqualification from representing a Zone Jumper Team. Exception: A full time student, 18 years of age or over, attending school outside of his/her traditional home Zone may choose his/hers parents’ (or legal guardian’s) residence with permission of the Federation. In extenuating circumstances, A person may apply to the Federation and the National Jumper Committee for permission to change their point state. to represent a Zone different from the above.
