by Joanie Morris | Nov 12, 2007, 11:24 AM

Lexington, KY -- For the second consecutive year, the American show jumpers made their trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina worth the effort, handily picking up a victory over Chile on November 11. Led by 19-year-old Brianne Goutal of New York, NY, the only rider of the quartet with overseas experience, the team won the CSIO**** Buenos Aires on a final score of eight faults.

Both Goutal, riding Casar, and 19-year-old Hillary Dobbs with Quincy B, jumped two clear rounds setting the team up for the win. There was only one other rider to jump two clear rounds in the Nations Cup. Libby McKinney of Green Farms, CT jumped clean in the first round on Gun du Desfi and Elgin, IL resident Charlie Jayne added eight faults in round two.

Under the watchful eye of Chef d’Equipe George Morris the four riders gained valuable international experience throughout the four-day horse show. Dobbs, riding Corlett, and Jayne aboard Thomas Edison were second and third respectively in the Speed Derby and in the Grand Prix Dobbs was third with Quincy B and ninth with Corlett. Jayne and Thomas Edison were seventh and Goutal was tenth with Casar.
