Lexington, KY -- Kristina Harrison-Naness, riding in only her second overseas show on Rociero 4, and veteran rider Debbie McDonald on her up-and-coming star, Felix, braved horrendous weather conditions at the CDI**** Oldenburg in Germany November 9-11. These athletes were recipients of United States Equestrian Federation European Training Grants.

Harrison-Naness and the diminutive Andalusian Rociero 4 put in a brave performance in the cold and fiercely windy conditions to finish second by less than half a point in the Grand Prix on a score of 68.03% behind Coby van Baalen from The Netherlands and BMC Ojay DVB. Rociero, a 12-year-old stallion owned by Margaret Carrera, was making his first trip overseas from Harrison-Naness’ Los Angeles base and followed up his first foreign CDI at Brammen (Germany) with stellar results at Oldenburg.

Olympic medalist, McDonald, who made a name for herself aboard the gallant mare, Brentina, has a new star in the making in Peggy Thomas’ 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding Felix. They finished fourth in the Grand Prix on a score of 66.667%. Felix, who is green at this level, compounded his education on his first trip to Europe to compete in grand prixes and heads home to Hailey, Idaho a more experienced horse.
