World Games 2010 Foundation Hires Director of Ticketing

by By Amy Walker | Nov 15, 2007, 9:52 AM

The World Games 2010 Foundation, Inc., the organization responsible for planning, organizing and conducting the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, announced that Ruth Mason has been hired as the director of ticketing.

As director of ticketing for the 2010 Games, Mason will oversee the daily ticketing operations, including ticket inventory, production and distribution, as well as manage seat assignments and fulfillment of corporate and group sales. She will also assist in venue planning with regards to seating capacities, and develop operational strategies for ticketing during the 16 days of the Games.

"We are very lucky to get someone with Ruth’s extensive ticketing background. She is a veteran of two Olympics, has worked corporate hospitality programs for major international events and has experience with small and large venues," said Foundation CFO Martin Mathews. "Locating a person with this kind of experience is like looking for a needle in a haystack. We are very fortunate to have found the needle."

Mason joins the Foundation with more than 14 years of ticketing experience, most recently as the director of ticketing for Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. She has also served as assistant manager of Ticket Operations for the 2002 Olympic and Para-Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah, and as a regional ticket manager for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.

"I love working on big events and the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games is going to be a challenging and rewarding experience," said Mason. "This caliber of event is rare, and I plan on enjoying every minute."

Mason holds a M.S. in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami and a B.A. in Communications from Lenoir-Rhyne in North Carolina.
