Lexington, KY—Competing against a record number of submissions from across the country, 12 outstanding entries have emerged victorious in the 2004 United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Awards for Media Excellence. The winning entry in each of the six individual categories will go on to compete for the Daniel P. Lenehan Trophy, a capstone award celebrating outstanding achievement in media excellence.

In addition, the Federation is pleased to introduce the President’s Award, to be given for the first time this year. Also a capstone award celebrating overall excellence in media coverage, this award will be given at the discretion of the President and CEO of the Federation, in celebration of unsurpassed mainstream coverage of the Federation’s international teams and athletes, by a mainstream (non-equestrian) media outlet.

Established in 1993, the USEF Awards for Media Excellence are designed to promote understanding and appreciation of equestrian sports in the United States. All awards will be formally presented January 13, at the Keynote Address Luncheon of the 2005 USEF Annual Meeting.
