United States Hunter Jumper Association Affiliate Equitation Awards Program Announced

by By Whitney Allen | Dec 20, 2007, 12:54 PM

The United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) has implemented an Equitation Awards program through its Affiliate Organizations Medal Classes primarily offered at local and unrecognized horse shows.

The goal of this program is to increase the USHJA membership and outreach in the equestrian community, by further informing and educating individuals who partake in equestrian sports at the unrecognized and local horse show level and demonstrating that USHJA has something to offer them through its many programs, and shared involvement with the horse.

New Membership Level
In order to meet the needs of this program and the members participating, USHJA has created the Outreach Membership level—$15.00—which will include:

—A USHJA membership card
—Access to USHJA information through a full subscription to In Stride
—Eligibility for participation in the Affiliates Award Program
—Eligibility for national recognition through participation in USHJA-sponsored Equitation Awards Program offered by USHJA Affiliate Organizations
—Notification of USHJA sponsored clinics in their area

Participation and Specifications
This Equitation Award program is offered to organizations that are Affiliate Members of USHJA. Affiliate Organizations may choose to participate through offering Medal Finals Classes at a designated horse show or by using cumulative points through the competition year to determine their year-end award winners. For specifications and requirements for either method of participation, please visit www.ushja.org/programs/affil-equ-awards.shtml.
