The United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation has announced that the Foundation will be featured in a special 24-page editorial and advertising section in the February 2008 issue of Town & Country magazine. The fundraising initiative raised $200,000 for the USET Foundation's high-performance fundraising programs. These contributions will help support high-performance equestrian athletes, including those preparing and competing at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

"The project with Town & Country provided a unique and exciting opportunity to put the USET Foundation in front of a wonderful audience where we can promote our mission and equestrian sport," said USET Foundation Executive Director Bonnie B. Jenkins. "We are delighted that generous contributors underwrote the editorial and purchased advertising in our section. This opportunity was a win-win situation because USET Foundation sponsors will reach Town & Country's affluent subscribers in key states at a highly discounted rate. It's an Olympic year and our Hong Kong by Night benefit gala is on February 8, so the Town & Country February issue is perfect timing for the USET Foundation."

The 24-page section features five sponsored pages of editorial information on the USET Foundation and its mission with photos of athletes and the Gladstone headquarters, and information on the Hong Kong by Night Olympic benefit, plus 19 pages of sponsor advertisements.

The charity sections are not offered very often. Some of the other charities that have benefited from a section in Town & Country are The New York Botanical Gardens, UNICEF and Baccarat Brightening the World for Children, Carnegie Hall, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Jenkins explained that Richard Malloch, President of Hearst Business Media, initiated the opportunity for the USET Foundation. "Rich is a wonderful dressage enthusiast, owner and rider," Jenkins said. "Rich made this possible."

Lendon Gray introduced Malloch to Mason Phelps of Phelps Media Group, Inc., International (PMG) at the PhelpsSports.com Palm Beach Dressage Derby in March 2007. PMG is the public relations company for the USET Foundation. Malloch and Phelps discussed several fundraising possibilities linked with the Hearst company. In the summer of 2007, Malloch presented the Town & Country charity section plan to Jenkins and Phelps. "It proves once again that horse people who are passionate about high-performance disciplines will find a way to become involved with the USET Foundation and its fundraising efforts," said Phelps. "Rich is very knowledgeable about high-performance horse sports and the finances necessary for successful international teams. He was a vital component throughout the execution of the plan, from idea to final product. We are truly grateful for his enthusiasm and assistance."

The February 2008 Town & Country magazine will be distributed to subscribers in selected areas starting in January 2008. Town & Country is a publication of Hearst Magazines Division, Hearst Communications, Inc.
