The National Horse Show Association of America is pleased to announce that the 2008 ASPCA Maclay National Championship will be held at the 2008 Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament in Syracuse, NY. The show will run from October 29-November 2, 2008, at the Oncenter Complex.

Once again in 2008, there will be eight regional competitions held across the country for riders to qualify for the national championship. The dates and locations of these regional qualifiers will be announced at a later date.

The ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship class has been held since 1933, and it is one of the most prestigious competitions for junior riders in the United States. Its winners are some of the biggest names in equestrian sport. Previous winners include: William Steinkraus (1941), Frank Chapot (1948), George Morris (1952), Leslie Burr Howard (1972), Stacia Klein Madden (1987), and Nicole Shahinian Simpson (1992). The 2007 ASPCA Maclay National Championship winner was Kimberly McCormack of Clermont, NJ.
