Lexington, KY - This weekend, the first two USEF/North American Juniors and Young Riders' Championships qualifying competitions of 2008 for the USEF National Dressage Championship Programs kick off the new year in West Palm Beach, FL, and Tucson, AZ, with FEI junior, young rider, “Brentina Cup”, young horse and developing horse divisions.

Complete selection procedures are posted on the national dressage programs page of the USEF website, www.usef.org. Recently added are the required applications of intent for each of these programs. Of particular note and as a reminder to all competitors in “Brentina Cup” and Developing Horse divisions, new versions of the USEF tests must be utilized for these qualifying classes.

“We would like to strongly encourage anyone interested in our National Dressage Championship programs to please read the corresponding selection procedures,” notes Jennifer Keeler, USEF National Director of Dressage. “These documents outline all of the eligibility requirements, including age limitations, new test requirements, deadlines, etc. which everyone needs to know for qualification.”

Also for 2008, all of these programs will implement score tracking and ongoing ranking lists for each division.

“With the continued support of competitors, competition staff, officials, and sponsors, we look forward to another exciting year for USEF National Dressage Championship programs,” explains Keeler.

Complete selection procedures, qualifying competition lists, and applications for 2008 USEF National Dressage Championship Programs are available on the National Dressage page of the USEF website www.usef.org.
