by By Joanie Morris | Mar 6, 2008, 4:00 PM

Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is launching a new International Reining initiative for 2008. The inaugural USEF CRI* National Reining Championship will be held concurrently with the Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championships presented by Equine Motorcoach during the NRHA Derby in Oklahoma City, OK on June 27, 2008.

The USEF CRI* National Reining Championship is open to any rider who is not on the 2008 USEF Reining Long List or is on the restricted portion of the Long List and who has not competed in the Open Reining Championship in the last three years.

This Championship was designed to help develop the future of the sport of Reining on an International level. To facilitate the growth of the High Performance Reining Program, the top 10 riders from the USEF CRI* National Reining Championship will be added to the USEF Reining Long List and will be eligible to compete in the Open Reining Championships the following year.
