The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series has been enjoying great success at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, FL. The series finished its third month of competition, and is already shaping up to be one of the most competitive years ever. The series will see classes at more than 100 horse shows across the country before culminating in year-end championships at the National Horse Show.

The series hosts separate divisions for junior and amateur-owner riders in two conferences—the East Conference and the West Conference. Series standings are used to help determine junior and amateur-owner entries for the National Horse Show.

Through the end of March, Marley Goodman and U-2 led the amateur-owner standings in the East Conference while Clementine Goutal and Rastella led the junior division.

Goodman of Wellington, FL, and her mount U-2 led the East Conference amateur-owner standings with a total of 470 points. The pair finished second at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) Week 2 Palm Beach Equine Clinic/Adequan CSI**, the WEF Week 3 Smart for Life CSI** and the WEF 8 CN Open CSIO****. Their first win came at the WEF Week 6 Equestrian Sport Production, LLC/WCHR Spectacular CSI*** where they topped a field of 42 entries for the victory. Ali Wolff of New Albany, OH, held the second- and third-place standings with Residenz, who had 360 points and Hertel Landman who had 355 points. Both horses are owned by Blacklick Bend Farm.

In the junior division, Goutal of New York, NY, held both first and second place in the standings aboard Rastella and Kelline Fonroy, respectively. Throughout March, Goutal managed to stay in the top two positions with wins at the WEF 8 CN Open CSIO**** and the WEF 9 CN Worldwide CSI****, both with Rastella. Goutal had a 110 point lead over third-place rider Henri Kovacs of Hungary and G5, owned by Indigo Farms. Kovacs and G5 had an impressive win at the WEF 10 Suncast Corporation CSI**.

The West Conference Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series opened March 30 at the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic I. Mavis Spencer dominated the field of 36 entries in the combined amateur-owner and junior class aboard her horse Winea Van't Vennehof. Finishing in second was Taylor Coe and her horse Carlos and in third was Brenda Riddell and Monet, owned by Silverstar Farms, Ltd.

The 2008 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series is sponsored by the Lake Placid Horse Show Association, Practical Horseman, Langer Equestrian Group, Inc., RV Sales of Broward and Taylor Harris Insurance Services.

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL, was established in 1987 and formally opened in 1989. It was organized to promote the sport of show jumping and to immortalize the legends of the men, women and horses who have made great contributions to the sport. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame also conducts the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, held under grand prix rules and specifications.

The series is designed to give amateur owner and junior riders an opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a proving ground for many riders who aspire to someday represent the United States in international competition.

Any horse show offering a class that meets all the criteria set forth in the 2008 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series specifications and has prize money of at least $1,000 is eligible to be part of the series.
