Lexington, KY—Effective immediately, Sara Ike will be taking on a new role at the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), as High Performance Director of Vaulting and USADA Coordinator.

“Sara Ike has a wide range of knowledge and experience in equestrian sport, coupled with outstanding organizational skills,” says Jim Wolf, Executive Director of High Performance. “Sara has such a high level of energy and a love for vaulting. She’s a natural fit for this position and I have every confidence that her transition to Director of Vaulting and United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) Coordinator will be a seamless one.”

In her youth, Sara competed in vaulting and earned her bronze medal. She says she’s excited about the direction of the sport and is already preparing for the World Equestrian Games in 2006.

“I think vaulting in the United States is on the cusp of something great, and I’m thrilled to be a part of the adventure,” Sara says.

As Director of Vaulting, Sara will oversee all aspects of the high performance sport and be in continued communication with the athletes, committees and competition management. She’ll also serve as team leader at all world championships. As USADA Coordinator, Sara will act as a liaison between athletes, the USADA and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), to inform athletes competing in all Olympic disciplines of the accompanying rules and regulations.

Sara Ike is a graduate of Skidmore College with a BA degree in Geology.
