Lexington, KY -The United States Equestrian Federation is announcing two Mandatory Outings for their Eventing Short Listed Riders. The Eventing Short List will be named by no later than June 30th. All Short Listed horse and rider combinations will be required to attend one of the Mandatory Outings.
The first Mandatory Outing will be held at the Barbury Castle Horse Trials CIC*** in England from July 3-6. The second Mandatory Outing will be hosted by The Fork Stables and Jim Cogdell in Norwood, NC on July 11-12. On July 15, following the Mandatory Outings the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team in Eventing (and alternates) will be announced.
For details regarding the Barbury Castle CIC***, visit http://www.barburyhorsetrials.co.uk. During the Mandatory Outing at the Fork Stables (www.forkstables.com), the cross country phase will be observed by selectors but not scored.
The provisional schedule for each are as follows:
Barbury Castle Horse Trials CIC***
July 3-4: Dressage 9am – 5pm
July 5: Dressage 9am – 1pm
July 6: Show Jumping 8am – 12:30pm
Cross Country 9am – 5pm
The Fork Stables Mandatory Outing (tentative schedule)
July 11: Dressage – morning
Cross Country – afternoon
July 12: Show Jumping – morning
As per the USEF Selection Procedures, riders may be excused from the Mandatory Outing for veterinary, medical or family emergencies. This request must be submitted in writing to the selectors prior to the Mandatory Outing.
