Lexington, KY — In a gracious nod to equestrian fans, NBC has announced that it will re-air coverage of the "Rolex Equestrian Championships presented by Kentucky – Unbridled Spirit" in its entirety on Saturday, May 24 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT. The initial airing of the program on May 4 had to be shortened when the National Hockey League playoff game that preceded it went into overtime and ran long.
Jon Miller, Executive Vice President of NBC Sports, who has shepherded the “Rolex” program since its first airing in 2004, made the announcement. Equestrian Events, Inc. thanks Mr. Miller and NBC Sports for this thoughtful act.
“NBC has been a wonderful supporter of equestrian sports and our event and we are most appreciative of their consideration,” said Jane Atkinson, Executive Vice President of EEI which produces the event traditionally known as the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by Farnam. “To have a second broadcast in prime time is an opportunity we don’t often get and we hope it will allow even more people to see how exciting our sport can be.”
Carr-Hughes Productions, Inc., Saratoga Springs, NY, produces the television program. The company also produces the 2-hour Rolex Kentucky highlight DVD available for purchase through the event’s official website at www.rk3de.org.
