Eighteen-year-old rookie Laura Teodori went clean and well within the time allowed in an exciting jump-off against three veteran riders to win the $100,000 Premier Truck & Trailer Grand Prix of Del Mar, an American Grand Prix Association (AGA) event, at the Del Mar National Horse Show.

Riding Kasoar D’Uxelles, owned by L & M Ventures, LLC, Teodori went up against 29 competitors from all over the nation in the competition held Saturday, May 3. Only three others—Ali Nilforushan, Alicia Jonsson and Audra Fleck Snijders—qualified for the jump-off that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Olympic course designer Leopoldo Palacios and internationally known grand prix course designer Peter Holmes worked together to design a challenging, but fair course for the 30 horses and riders that qualified to compete in Saturday night’s prestigious event.

Riders came from as far away as Hawaii and Virginia, however the home field advantage played out among the top six finishers, which included two San Diego locals.
