FEI Offers Veterinarians Course in Switzerland

The FEI Veterinary Department is pleased to announce that a course for Promotion to Event Veterinarians and Continuing Education will be organized during the European Championship for pony riders in Avenches, Switzerland, July 22-24, 2008. Avenches is a historic city located between Lausanne and Bern.

The course will be held in collaboration with the organizing committee of the championship and will give the participants the opportunity to immerge themselves in the atmosphere of a wonderful event organized in the National Equestrian Center. Attending this course will offer veterinarians the possibility to participate in the first horse inspections.

Organization of the Course
The course will consist of two parts: A practical experience held on the grounds of the IENA (Institut Equestre National Avenches) and a theoretical approach to veterinary management during FEI competitions based on the FEI regulations.

All lectures will be held in the Hotel Murtenhof & Krone. The hotel is located in the center of the little city of Murten, located about 10 km far from the event. The course director is Lies De Backer, FEI Veterinary Coordinator. The course will be held in English. Participation is open to all National Federations with a maximum of 30 participants. Deadline for applications is July 1, 2008.
Participation Fee is € 240.
