Attention Adult Saddle Seat Equitation Riders

by By Carrie Mortensen | Jun 18, 2008, 11:47 AM

The United States Equestrian Federation® (USEF) would like to remind all adult saddle seat equitation riders that there is still time to qualify for the 2008 USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final that will be held on Friday, July 11, during the Lexington Junior League Horse Show in Lexington, KY.

To participate in the 2008 Final, you must win a ribbon in one of the USEF Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal “qualifying” classes held between June 28, 2007, and June 27, 2008. Please note that effective on 04/01/08, the rules have been revised to “qualify” all participating riders regardless of the number of riders in the class (EQ118.14c).

For a listing of competitions that will offer qualifying classes, please contact Carrie Mortensen, Director of the USEF Breeds Department, at (859) 225-6986 or [email protected].

Also effective on 04/01/08: Winners of the Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal Final will be eliminated from further competition in Saddle Seat Adult Amateur Medal classes after two (2) consecutive or non-consecutive wins of the Final.

The 2008 champion will receive a beautifully hand-crafted USEF Leather Cabin Bag made exclusively by Freedman Harness of Canada; and, a beautiful cast resin sculpture by Patricia Crane. Champion and reserve champion will receive coolers and halters for their mounts, along with bouquets of roses to celebrate their wins. Top Ten riders will be honored with championship ribbons while traditional USEF medals will be awarded to the top three riders.

In the Red Mile Clubhouse following the Final, the Federation will host a luncheon reception where all participants will receive commemorative gift packages, including bags, T-shirts, hats and other souvenirs. Trainers will also be honored at the reception and awarded thank-you gifts.

Competition Managers: Please note it’s not too late to add a qualifying class to your schedule. If you would like assistance in adding this class to your prize list or need more information regarding this event, please contact Carrie Mortensen, Director of the Breeds Department, at the USEF Office at (859) 225-6986 or [email protected].
