by By Flashpoint Media Services | Jul 2, 2008, 1:15 PM

It was triple honors this past weekend for Miranda and Sophia Gali of Potomac, MD. Both sisters earned top division titles at the Roanoke Valley Horse Show, held at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, VA.

Miranda, 12, captured the Championship in the Large Green Pony Hunters aboard her own Chris Craft. She also rode the mare Catamaran, owned by Centennial Farm, Inc, to Reserve Champion honors in the Medium Pony Hunters. Sophia, 10, was Champion in the Small Pony Hunters aboard the Miranda Gali entry Miss Australia.

“The ponies went so well,” said Mom Kris Gali, who operates GaliCo Equine LLC, a business designed to find and train quality ponies for the junior market. “We’re thrilled with how consistent they have been.”

The Roanoke Valley Horse Show is currently the longest running professional sporting event in the Roanoke Valley, and it is rated at the highest level of competition in horse shows (AA) by the United States Equestrian Federation. It awards more than $250,000 in cash and prizes.

“We really enjoyed ourselves here,” noted Gali. “The show is managed very well and we really appreciated all the spectators and support from the community.”

Both Miranda and Sophia train with Marylisa Leffler, Patty Foster, and Laura Pickett at Rolling Acres Farm in Brookeville, MD.
