The prestigious Lexington Junior League Horse Show, first jewel of the American Saddlebred Triple Crown and billed as the largest outdoor Saddlebred competition in the world, begins Monday, July 7. Streaming live video will again be available worldwide at www.saddlebred.com, courtesy of the Junior League and the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA).

Video feed of each day’s performances from the historic Lexington Red Mile, will be streamed in their entirety, beginning with the Monday evening performance at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. The show concludes Saturday evening, July 12.

Subscription purchases for viewing the webcast will be available on the ASHA homepage, www.saddlebred.com. Fees to view the webcast are $15 per day per computer, meaning the license to view the webcast is exclusive to each computer on which it is purchased. ASHA members receive a 20% discount for daily purchase, making the member price $12 per day per computer. In addition, a full show, six-day package purchase is available at a 10% discount: this discount will be applied when all days are selected at the payment screen. Payment is accepted on-line using a credit or debit card. Sign-ups for the Webcast will begin Wednesday, July 2nd.

Viewers’ internet connection should be broadband, DSL, or cable modem for optimum quality (dial-up internet connection is not sufficient). To purchase a subscription, follow the simple steps on the ASHA homepage. A link is provided to a "Help" page to assist subscribers in viewing the webcast.

According to Will Wood Jr, Technology Manager for ASHA, the quality of this year’s webcast will be significantly enhanced over last year. "We had more time to prepare this year, so we expect that the quality and availability will improve. We’re expanding access to different operating systems this year as well."

Revenues received from subscribers go to offset the technical and production costs of the webcast. Any surplus is applied to the promotional efforts of ASHA, and benefit the Lexington Junior League Saturday’s program, beginning at 12 p.m., will also included the American Saddlebred Museum’s Art, Antique, and Rare Book Auction, originating from The Stable of Memories, the Round Barn at The Red Mile in Lexington. The unique auction is highlighted by several rare and valuable works of art by George Ford Morris and others, and the catalogue lists over 60 lots. The world-renowned auctioneer is Walt Robertson.
For those interested in bidding on an item, but who cannot attend the auction in person, telephone bidding is possible provided advance arrangements are made with the Museum. No bids will be taken online.

Since 1937, the Junior League has raised $3.6 million for the Lexington and Central Kentucky community. Volunteers for the Junior League give nearly a half-million dollars worth of volunteer time each year to their community, as well as grants totaling about $50,000 annually.
