USEF Publication, E-newsletter Honored at National Awards Program

Lexington, KY—EQUESTRIAN magazine, the official publication of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) since 1937, has recently been honored at the American Horse Publications (AHP) Annual Awards Program held in Saratoga Springs, NY, on June 21. AHP members were named finalists in the 2008 AHP Annual Awards Contest for material published in 2007. This year’s contest included 105 AHP members and 1,092 entries. A select panel of 29 industry judges reviewed the classes and critiqued the entries.

The USEF publication and magazine staff were recognized as follows:

COVER DESIGN:
First Place: EQUESTRIAN magazine - "Think Green" - October 2007 (out of 25 entries)

EDITORIAL DESIGN:
Second Place: EQUESTRIAN magazine - "Greening of the Horse World" - October 2007 (out of 32 entries)

EQUINE-RELATED NEWSLETTER (ELECTRONIC):
Second Place: EQUESTRIAN magazine's Week in Review e-newsletter (out of nine entries)

“I’m thrilled that the staff of EQUESTRIAN was recognized for their hard work and dedication to make each issue of our member publication better and better,” said EQUESTRIAN Editor Brian Sosby. “Plus, with our recently released redesign of the magazine, I know we are moving forward with fresh ideas and a new, engaging publication that reflects not only our broad audience, but the breadth and scope of the passion we all feel for the horse.”

“Since American Horse Publications is 'the' organization to win an award from in the equine industry, we're thrilled to receive the recognition for the e-newsletter,” said Sarah Evers, USEF’s Director of E-Communications. “We hope Week in Review readers continue to enjoy receiving and reading the newsletter each and every week.”

AHP is a non-profit association established in 1970 to promote better understanding and communications within the equine publishing industry. Its 500 members include equine-related publications, professionals, students, organizations and businesses. American Horse Publications is the association to belong to for anyone involved in equine publishing.
