by By Peggy Ingles | Jul 29, 2008, 3:46 PM

The Sport Horse Nationals Payback Program purchases of discounted breeding services to the many stallions enrolled for 2009 will commence on September 1, 2008. Purchases are conducted on a first-come-first-served basis at 50% of the stallion’s advertised fee for 2009.

Included are world class Warmbloods, Thoroughbreds, Arabians, Anglo-Arabians, Saddlebreds, Welsh, Friesians, Hackneys and others. Many are national or world champions, or have sired champions. The total number of stallions enrolled for 2008 exceeded 200.

The money raised in 2008 (over $45,000) will be paid out at the Sport Horse National Championships in September, with 10% of the total going to the top two Payback sires of the show. There is also a special award for the most winning Payback stallion of the entire show.

All offspring of enrolled stallions competing at the show are eligible for the cash payouts in 18 designated Payback classes. Classes are included from working hunter, sport horse in hand, dressage, driving, jumper, sport horse under saddle and hunter hack.

Donations of stallions can be made for 2009 at this time by visiting the Sport Horse Nationals website and downloading a donation form. Stallions must meet eligibility requirements to be enrolled.
