When the Federation launched the USEF Purchasing Program in April of 2004, the implications were big. Even so, no one could have estimated the enormity of the impact on the members, let alone the impact on the Federation itself. $800,000 in savings later, those who have used the program are not only standing behind it—they’re asking for more.
In his January 16 report to the Board of Directors, USEF CEO John Long unveiled the numbers that point to the program’s undeniable success. In the course of a mere nine-month run, members spent more than $5 million on products purchased through the program, adding up to a savings of $800,000.
“We’ve barely scratched the surface with this program,” Long says. “The savings for members on both big ticket items like Dodge trucks and John Deere tractors, and smaller purchases such as Lexmark printers and supplies, is substantial.”
Barely scratched the surface takes on new meaning when you stop to consider this: Of the Federation’s 86,000+ members, only 13% have taken advantage of the program thus far. Doubtless, thousands of others are buying those same products without the added USEF savings. From vehicles and farm machinery, to shipping, supplies and all the extras in between, farm owners and individual members alike could save money on everyday items, just by making a phone call to the USEF.
“I think members are starting to pay attention to added benefits of our membership and realizing it can pay for itself many times over,” adds Long. “We will continue to aggressively promote this program and expand its offerings to members.”
To start taking advantage of the USEF Purchasing Program, call the USEF toll-free at (877) 576-6872, or visit www.usef.org/content/marketing/groupPurchasing.php. The program is absolutely free with your USEF membership.
Rest easy, there are no disclaimers or fine print to muddle through with this offer. When we say free with USEF membership, we mean free. As in the dictionary definition: given without charge. Isn’t it nice to know some things still come without a price tag?
