Prize List Available for the 2008 Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament Featuring the 125th National Horse Show

The Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament featuring the 125th National Horse Show announces the publication of the 2008 prize list. Held from October 29-November 2, the Syracuse Invitational welcomes the National Horse Show to Syracuse along with top-ranked equestrians from across the U.S. and from around the world to compete in the War Memorial at the Oncenter Complex. Besides the highest level of competition, competitors and spectators alike enjoy shopping, entertainment and dining along with the rich history and tradition that the National Horse Show brings with it.

Copies of the prize list were mailed on August 1 to those who requested one, and it will be available at www.syracuseinvitational.com on August 7 at noon. Please note that entry requirements and qualifications vary by division. Ten of the highest ranked junior and amateur jumpers, based on prize money, will also be invited to compete in a new World Cup Finals style format for $60,000 in prize money. The closing date for entries is September 25, 2008. Please note that emailed and faxed entries will not be accepted. —The National Horse Show ASPCA Maclay Championship
—Bates Equitation Year-End Rider and Trainer Awards

As tradition at Syracuse, there will be a host of educational and local community involvement events scheduled throughout the week. John Madden and George Morris will join together to present "Horse and Rider Potential—An Insiders View featuring George Morris and John Madden; presented by Practical Horseman on Wednesday, October 29, at 5:00 p.m. At this ticketed clinic, attendees will learn what experts consider when they evaluate horse-and-rider talent. Hear the clinicians discuss firsthand the strengths, weaknesses, and potential of up to six horse-and-rider combinations in this unique and fascinating clinic. A full slate of free and ticketed clinics will be featured throughout the week at the Equestrian Expo in the convention center, including a Drugs and Medication Workshop, College & Career Fair and presentations by Dr. Temple Grandin, top veterinarians, and grand prix riders, including Beezie Madden.

Items to be featured in the 2008 silent auction will be listed online for your perusal prior to arrival at the tournament, so make sure to check out these great donations. Proceeds from the auction go directly to the beneficiaries of the Tournament and the used tack sale will return on Saturday morning.

The lovely Genesee Grande Hotel is again the host hotel for the international riders. Complete information about local accommodations, stabling and shipping schedules will be available in the prize list. Remember to book your hotels early.

Tickets will go on sale for the Syracuse Invitational on September 1 through the Oncenter Box Office (315-435-2121) and are expected to be limited for both the Animal Planet Sporthorse Cup and the Budweiser FEI World Cup Qualifier of Syracuse, so make sure to reserve seats early!
