The American Saddlebred Registry has announced that new and improved Stallion Service Reports for 2008 have been issued. They have been mailed to all stallion owners of record, and are also available online at www.asha.net/files/stallionservicereport.pdf. To avoid mandatory penalties, all Stallion Service Reports must be filed no later than October 31 each year.
According to Petra S. Green, Senior Registry Supervisor, the new report form should make the process for registering American Saddlebreds much more efficient. “In the past,” she said, “stallion owners had to complete both a full report of all breeding services for a stallion, and also file a separate Breeder’s Certificate on each breeding. Now, the Stallion Service Report may (at the option of the stallion owner) also suffice as the Breeder’s Certificate, if the form is used properly, so we’ve cut down on the paperwork requirements, which should help our stallion owners conduct their business.”
The suggestion came from the Registry Committee, and was implemented after review and a redesign of the form.
