The Capital Challenge Horse Show: Ready, Set, Go!

Final preparations for the 15th annual Capital Challenge Horse Show are under way at the Prince George’s Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD. The show begins on Saturday, September 27, continuing through Sunday, October 5. The first weekend features the Taylor Harris Insurance Services National Children’s Medal Finals and the Monarch International North American Junior and Adult Equitation Championships.

Horses and riders are streaming in from all parts of the country to join in the excitement of the first of several major fall indoor competitions. Over the course of the nine-day event juniors, amateurs and professionals will compete in a variety of hunter and jumper classes. Highlights will include: the World Champion Hunter Rider Professional Finals; the $45,000 North American Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper Challenge Cup; and a new feature hunter class, the $5,000 Emerging Pro Challenge.

Spectators can enjoy the show jumping action as well as the many boutiques offering unique gift items, artwork, the finest jewelry and a variety of quality equestrian equipment. The boutique areas are located inside and out, with the expanded shop area on the concourse featuring over 20 vendors. Pick up your holiday gifts early.
