USEF Eventing Selectors Change

by Joanie Morris | Nov 19, 2008, 2:40 PM

The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the Eventing Selectors who have served the US Eventing program from 2005-2009. Chairman Peter Green, Bea DiGrazia, Ann Getchell, Ann Taylor, and Mark Weissbecker have selected three championship teams.

They chose the horse/rider combinations that made up the fourth placed team and earned an individual bronze at the 2006 World Equestrian Games. The following year they selected the team that went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, won Team gold and swept the individual medals at the 2007 Pan American Games. Most recently, the US Eventing community celebrated Gina Miles' Individual silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong with McKinlaigh - members of the last championship team selected by this group. The Selectors have all volunteered their time, traveled extensively and worked tirelessly within the Selection Process.

The Eventing Eligible Athlete Committee met on October 30, 2008 to recommend Selectors for the upcoming quadrennium. The committee recommended Bea DiGrazia, Ann Taylor, Mike Huber, Kerry Millikin, and Mark Weissbecker as the Eventing Selectors to serve from 2009 - 2012. The new group of Selectors will not officially be approved until January 2009 (at which time the new Chairman will also be named) by the USEF Executive Committee.
