Whitney Weeks, Victoria Birdsall, Josephina Nor and Samantha Harrison emerged as champions of the 2008 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series.

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series conducted its largest series ever in 2008, with classes at 109 horse shows across the nation. This gave competitors an abundance of opportunities to accumulate points throughout the year. The Series featured separate divisions for amateur-owner and junior riders with standings kept separately for East and West Conferences.

In one of the closest races in the series' history, Whitney Weeks of Southport, CT, topped the amateur-owner division standings in the East Conference with 810 points aboard Subliem. Marley B. Goodman of Wellington, FL, and her mount U-2 finished just behind Weeks with 800 points. In third place with 580 points was Alexandra Wolff of New Albany, OH, riding Residenz.

In the East Conference's junior division, Victoria Birdsall of Topsfield, MA, and Jerremy took top honors with 895 points. Clementine Goutal of New York, NY, and Rastella finished in second place with 860 points. Jennifer Waxman of Chagrin Falls, OH, was third with 775 points aboard Shakira.

In the West Conference, Josephina Nor of Del Mar, CA, and Chello Z took top honors in the amateur-owner division with 435 points. Finishing in second place was Katie Williams, who earned 220 points with Austintatious. Audrey Halle of Scottsdale, AZ, rode UFO 14 to a third place finish with 219 points

The top spot in the West Conference junior division standings went to Samantha Harrison of La Canada, CA, and Santika with a year-end total of 615 points. Behind Harrison with 410 points was Mavis Spencer of Santa Monica, CA, on Winea Van't Vennehof. Karl Cook of Woodside, CA, finished the year in third place aboard Notories Utopia with 300 points.

The 2008 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series is sponsored by the Lake Placid Horse Show Association, Practical Horseman, Langer Equestrian Group, Inc., RV Sales of Broward, and Taylor Harris Insurance Services.

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame was organized to promote the sport of show jumping and to immortalize the legends of the men, women and horses who have made great contributions to the sport. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum has moved out of its longtime home at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL. An announcement of its new home will be made in 2009.

The Show Jumping Hall of Fame also conducts the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, held under grand prix rules and specifications.

The series is designed to give amateur-owner and junior riders an opportunity to compete at higher levels and serves as a proving ground for many riders who aspire to someday represent the United States in international competition.

Any horse show offering a class that meets all the criteria set forth in the 2009 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series specifications and has prize money of at least $1,000 is eligible to be part of the series.
