December 1, 2008 marked the start of another show season and the launch of the United States Hunter Jumper Association’s (USHJA) newest program—the Members Choice Awards. Developed by the Show Standards Committee, the Members Choice Awards give exhibitors and participants the unique opportunity to vote for the competition they feel is the best in their zone, at the level they compete.

The goal of the program is to promote exhibitor friendly competitions and reward excellence based on the amenities and qualities exhibitors value. Exhibitors will have the ability to provide feedback on each USEF-licensed event on the level of competition, the facility, footing, show personnel and the hospitality of the event. All exhibitors are invited to provide feedback on competitions by visiting USHJA’s website at www.ushja.org and completing the online survey. To take the online survey, visit https://www.usef.org/_AUAIFrames/USHJA/CompEval/USHJACompEval.aspx.

Throughout the year, points will be tallied for each event with the highest-scoring show at each rating (AA and A, B and C) from each of the 12 zones being recognized as the Best Overall Competition. Awards will be finalized at the end of the competition year insuring members are able to vote on the final events of the year.

Shows winning the Best Overall Competition award will receive a USHJA banner recognizing their accomplishment. Additionally, free advertising and publicity through USHJA’s In Stride magazine, in the bi-weekly E-News Updates and on the USHJA website will be made available.
