Old Salem Farm to Host 2009 Spring Horse Shows at Newly Renovated Facility

Old Salem Farm will host its 2009 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows at its newly renovated facility in the charming town of North Salem, NY, in the heart of Westchester County. The "new" Old Salem Farm boasts its historic pristine grass grand prix field as well as three all-weather outdoor rings, all which will be in full use during its traditional May 5-10 and May 12-17 horse show dates.

"We are thrilled that the long-awaited unveiling of our new facility at Old Salem Farm is now ready for our exhibitors to enjoy in 2009," said Scott Hakim, president of Old Salem Farm. "I believe exhibitors will be excited to see the completion of the renovations we have made to our facility as well as the increases in classes and prize money that we are offering this year. Old Salem Farm has a long, cherished history of hosting elite horse shows for the nation's premiere horses and riders. Over the years, it has played host to selection trials for U.S. teams for World Championships and Olympic Games. With the completion of it renovations, Old Salem Farm now has a state-of-the-art stabling facility to go with its outstanding show and schooling rings, all surrounded by one of the nation's most quaint and picturesque settings.

The 2009 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows will feature the $75,000 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix and the $40,000 Empire State Grand Prix, as well as a $15,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, $10,000 Hunter Classic and the return of the horse shows' $10,000 Leading Hunter Rider Award.

Old Salem Farm is located one hour north of New York City. In addition to its year-long horse show series that includes 25 horse shows in addition to its flagship spring horse shows, it maintains luxury stabling facilities for year-round boarding, and offers training for all levels as well as horses for sale and lease.
