Two of the many highlights planned for the American Saddlebred Horse Association Convention, held at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort and Spa in Lexington, KY, are the Charter Club Workshop, to be held on Thursday, February 12, beginning at 10 a.m., and the Amateur/Owner Training Forum on Friday, February 13, at 9:30 a.m. For all convention information, click here.

Charter Clubs are essential to the promotion of the American Saddlebred and form the national backbone of the breed’s outreach. Doug Norton, Charter Club Council leader, will direct the meeting covering an array of topics from competition to recreation programs, managing a Charter Club more effectively and efficiently, how to expand membership, how to govern, and how to promote the Saddlebred for all uses. Among those in attendance, and on hand to answer questions and help guide the discussion, will be Pam Quick, Susan Vine, Lisa Siderman, and Richard Shrake.

On Friday morning, an all-star team of professional horsemen is converging to participate in a discussion with interested amateur/owners trainers, and everyone else who seeks better understanding of the most successful practices in training young American Saddlebreds, during the Amateur/Owner Training Forum. Meeting attendees will be offered the opportunity to submit questions for the noteworthy panelists, including Nelson Green of Nicholasville, KY; Allison Deardorff of Molalla, OR; Tre Lee of Versailles, KY; Matt Shiflet of Asheboro, NC; and, special guest Richard Shrake.

Convention registration is still available, but space is limited. For convention registration, click here.
